Account Executive

IBM Products

l         Prospect for, qualify and close business in assigned territory-  This position is a commissioned sales representative.  Tasks include responding to product inquiries and questions, identifying and qualifying opportunities, making presentations, and doing new product introductions.  Closing business is the primary responsibility.

l         Customer Relationships- Cultivating new opportunities in assigned territory and establishing new relationships.

l         Marketing Support- Responsible for supporting GMI in all marketing activities including canvassing assigned accounts for interest and attendance, when required.

l         Quotations/Sales Orders and Process - includes responding to telephone and email requests along with RFI, RFP, and RFQ.   

l         Account Planning- Develop up to date plans for all major accounts assigned.     Prepare forecasts and or account planning documents.  Work and coordinate with vendor sales and technical contacts in all assigned territories.  Maintain good relationships with all manufacturers representatives.

l         Training- Obtain and maintain IBM sales certifications as required.  Keep current on GMI, competing, and complimentary products.

l         Skills/Education:

l         Five to ten years experience selling to all levels including the executive level in the Information Technology industry required, specific experience selling hardware in an IBM environment preferred.

l         Excellent relationship skills.

l         Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets or quota on a consistent basis, possessed with high energy and a proven self-starter.  This individual must possess the ability to uncover opportunities, build a sales campaign around those opportunities, marshal resources and win business.

l         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Accurate, flexible, excellent interpersonal skills and detail oriented.  In depth knowledge of  IT technology, preferably IBM.   Knowledge in other environments such as Oracle, HP, HDS, VMWare and Cisco also desireable.

l         College degree highly desired, sufficient experience required.
