Systems Engineer

Key Info is seeking an experienced systems engineer to design and implement complex enterprise solutions.  This engineer will assist with the pre-sales process including requirements gathering, project scope definition, systems and complex, enterprise systems design.  This engineer will be primarily responsible for implementing solutions as required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

·        Implement complex enterprise systems, primarily IBM AIX but also other Unix and windows solutions

·        Assist with defining business requirements of potential customers

·        Assist with translating business requirements into technical solution

·        Assist with designing technical solutions and determining levels of effort to implement such

 

Knowledge and Skills Needed

• Must have designed and implemented complex Unix-based enterprise solutions  with contemporary technologies
• Must have expert knowledge of IBM pSeries and AIX; knowledge of other operating systems and platforms a plus but not required
• Experience with Microsoft applications, including Office and Visio.

 

Work Experience Needed

 

A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the networking field

 

Education and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field

 

Distinguishing Characteristics

 

Part of a small team of engineers each with different specialty areas; must be a team player

 

Highly professional with superior verbal and written communications skills, including public speaking and large group presentation skills

 

Off-hours effort is occasionally required

 

Physical Requirements

 

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
