Storage Engineer

Key Info is seeking an experienced storage engineer to design and implement complex enterprise solutions.  This engineer will assist with the pre-sales process including requirements gathering, project scope definition, systems and high-capacity storage subsystem design.  This engineer will be primarily responsible for implementing solutions as required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Implement complex high capacity (multi TB) storage solutions, including disk, tape and other solutions

·         Assist with defining business requirements of potential customers

·         Assist with translating business requirements into technical solutions

• Assist with designing technical solutions and determining levels of effort to implement such

 

Knowledge and Skills Needed

• Must have designed and implemented large storage solutions (multi-TB) with contemporary technologies
• Must be experienced with major vendors networking product lines, including IBM, NetApp, DDN, and others
• Must have expert knowledge of widely used technologies and strategies including VTL, dedupe, SAN, NAS, and storage management
• Must have expert knowledge of major operating systems including AIX, Linux, Windows and others
• Experience with Microsoft applications, including Office and Visio.

 

Work Experience Needed

 

A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the networking field

 

Education and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field

 

Distinguishing Characteristics

 

Part of a small team of engineers each with different specialty areas; must be a team player

 

 

Highly professional with superior verbal and written communications skills, including public speaking and large group presentation skills

 

Off-hours effort is occasionally required

 

Physical Requirements

 

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
